Your hosts at Blue Moon Antigua are Shonnie and Michael who moved from North Carolina to Antigua in the fall of 2005. Shonnie worked as a physician assistant in an emergency room in Winston-Salem before retiring to raise two daughters. For over twenty years she also bred Rhodesian Ridgebacks and Sport horses.
Michael, a Washington State native, fished commercially for 22 seasons in the North Pacific waters around Kodiak Island and in SE Alaska before moving on to the Bering Sea. In Antigua, he has taught at middle and upper levels, including two year courses in secondary English, Integrated Science and Chemistry. He has also served as headmaster of Island Academy.
Both Michael and Shonnie volunteer for ABSAR-Antigua and Barbuda Search and Rescue-which operates a small medic station in Falmouth Harbour as well as assisting visiting racing and leisure boats.
